Haiku

(Yaël)
from the earth's crust
and a master sculptress' hands
enduring grace

***

(Michael)
lake sunrise
the red reflection
of a Shinto shrine

***

(senryu)
a prisoner
whenever I try to leave
"you've got mail"

***

journey's end
the front gate's lock
still broken

***

his funeral day
winter deer settle
on the lawn

***

the chick
struggles from its shell
smell of new mown hay

***

frills and folds
of a white peony
scurrying ants

***

a tossed pebble
scatters the moon and stars
lake ripples
