Nocturne

Like clouds upon the moon's bounty
Set adrift, your eyes embody gray:
I see stone and ash within them
Tuft with soot, eclipse silver,
Then ebb in unmasking wind
To inlay the dream
I shed against the light
Through holes in bone
Where forgiveness drains,
Fusing with blood
You turn mercurial.
