a halfmoon clam cleaves to
a wooden clock with grappling hooks
& this is modern art

if you circle Rodin's The Kiss
inspecting the lips closely
they are separated

the man's from the woman's

by a space of, say,
more than a millimeter

though less than
an inch

But I am still in a clinch
with that moon-clock
